This is a breaking report on the results of the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (BC Turf Sprint) held in November 2025. The 3-year-old filly Shisospicy secured a stunning wire-to-wire victory. It’s time for the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint. Two horses from Japan are competing: #12 Invincible Papa and #13 Puro Magic, who drew in from the also-eligible list. Invincible Papa is ridden by Daisuke Sasaki, who will celebrate his 22nd birthday on the 24th of this month. Oisin Murphy, who won yesterday’s Juvenile Fillies Turf, is aboard Puro Magic.
All horses are in the gate… and they’re off! The two Japanese contenders break evenly. #10 Shisospicy gets a great start and leads the charge for the front. From the inside, #6 Governor Sam also joins, but it’s #10 Shisospicy who takes the lead into the backstretch. It appears She’s Quality has pulled up at the back of the pack.
Invincible Papa settles into second, with Bear River and, on the outside, #13 Puro Magic forming a group in fourth. Following them are Bucanero Fuerte, Bring Theband Home, and Reef Runner on the inside. Khaadem and Motorious are running towards the rear.
Rounding the final turn, it’s still Shisospicy in the lead. She extends her advantage to two lengths as they enter the home stretch. Invincible Papa digs in at second, while Governor Sam pushes from the inside, Ag Bullet makes a move on the outside, and Reef Runner tries to split horses. From the far outside, #4 Khaadem is also closing, but the front-running #10 Shisospicy shows no signs of slowing down.
With 200 meters to go, the lead is three lengths. Ag Bullet and Khaadem move up into second and third, but Shisospicy is unstoppable! She crosses the finish line! A magnificent wire-to-wire victory for Shisospicy.
A masterful ride by jockey Irad Ortiz Jr., who sent his speedy mount to the front and never allowed another horse to get close. This is the first victory in this race for the 3-year-old filly, Shisospicy.
